About compliance and consent

What you'll need

  • Nothing

Steps

  1. "Compliance" in MyWiFi covers two related but separate things: consent (did the guest agree to how their data is used) and terms acceptance (did the guest agree to your terms of service / acceptable use policy for the network).
  2. Both are configured in the same place — the campaign builder's Advanced tab, under Compliance. Advanced tab showing the Compliance section with Opt-in Form toggle
  3. Turn on Opt-in Form to require an explicit checkbox before guests can complete login — this is your record that the guest actively agreed.
  4. Set your Terms and Conditions text in the same tab (see Add custom terms and conditions) — guests see a link to it at login.
  5. If you serve guests in the EU, treat both as required rather than optional (see GDPR overview).

How it works

These are independent controls, not one setting — you can turn on one without the other, but enabling both is the safer default, since the same login moment covers both needs.

Best practice: don't pre-check the consent box — an unchecked, explicit opt-in is what regulators expect, and a pre-checked box can invalidate the consent entirely.
