Turning on the opt-in form adds the guest's marketing-consent checkbox — their explicit agreement to be contacted later — to your login screen, so nobody gets past it without actively agreeing.
What you'll need
- A campaign in the builder
Steps
- Open the Advanced tab and find Compliance.
- Toggle on Opt-in Form to add the checkbox to your login screen — it starts unchecked, and guests must tick it themselves to proceed.
- Customize the consent text so it clearly states what the data will be used for (e.g. "I agree to receive marketing emails from [Business Name]").
- Save your campaign.
How it works
Opt-in consent and terms acceptance are two different controls, even though both live under Compliance on the same Advanced tab. Terms acceptance covers what a guest agrees to in order to use your network at all; the opt-in form is specifically the checkbox that lets you email or text guests later. Turning this on only covers the marketing-consent piece — set your Terms and Conditions separately if you need that too.
Best practice: be specific in the consent text. "I agree to the terms" is vague; "I agree to receive promotional emails and SMS from [Business]" is the kind of specific, informed consent that holds up under GDPR/CCPA scrutiny. Never pre-check the box yourself — a pre-checked box can invalidate the consent entirely.
