What you'll need
- Nothing
Steps
- A demo page means your custom domain isn't yet serving one of your real campaigns (a splash page plus its login methods, branding, and post-login behavior, reusable across locations) — usually because no campaign is assigned to the location (one physical venue in MyWiFi, with its own devices, campaigns, and guest data) behind that domain, the domain hasn't finished activating on MyWiFi's side, or DNS hasn't fully propagated yet.
- Confirm an active campaign is assigned to the location tied to this custom domain — see Assign a campaign to a location. With no assignment, MyWiFi has nothing to serve at that domain, so it falls back to the demo page.
- Check your domain's status in Branding. A domain still showing pending rather than active isn't live yet — activation is completed by MyWiFi staff after your DNS check passes, so a recently added domain may not be serving your campaigns yet — see Custom social portal URL.
- Re-check your DNS CNAME record (a DNS record that points your own domain name at MyWiFi's servers) against the exact target MyWiFi provides. DNS changes can take up to 24-48 hours to fully propagate, so a recent change may just need more time.
Best practice: work through these in order — campaign assignment is the instant fix, while domain activation and DNS propagation just take time. Don't assume something's broken if you made either change recently.
