What you'll need
- A journey (a multi-step automated sequence of messages, delays, and branches that runs per guest) in progress
- A Twilio and/or SendGrid connection if you plan to bring your own instead of using MyWiFi's managed sending
Steps
- Every journey has one sender per channel type: one Twilio connection (SMS and WhatsApp steps) and one SendGrid connection (Email steps), chosen once for the whole journey — not per step.
- In the journey editor, open the sender picker and choose Platform default to use MyWiFi's managed sending, or pick a Twilio/SendGrid connection you've connected yourself. See Messaging tab overview.
- If the sender you pick doesn't match what a step needs — wrong type, not yours, or not available on your plan — the journey editor shows a specific error rather than letting you publish silently broken steps.
- Individual message steps only carry the channel and content — they don't have their own sender setting. Changing the journey's sender changes it for every step of that type in the sequence.
Best practice: pick your sender before writing message content — if you're bringing your own Twilio/SendGrid account and it isn't connected yet on the Apps page, the journey editor will tell you it's unavailable rather than silently falling back to the platform default.
