Set up Datto Networking / OpenMesh (CloudTrax) with MyWiFi

What you'll need

• Admin access to the CloudTrax dashboard (cloudtrax.com) or Datto Network Manager
• A CloudTrax API key and secret for your account
• The numeric network ID and the 0-based SSID index of the guest network you're connecting
• Note: CloudTrax / Legacy Open Mesh is in maintenance-only mode — no new firmware or API features are being added, but existing deployments remain fully supported

Steps

1. In your CloudTrax account, locate (or generate) an API key and secret, and note the numeric network ID and the 0-based SSID index of the guest SSID you want to connect. (SSID index means the first SSID on the network is index 0, not 1 — double-check this if the network has more than one SSID.)
2. In the MyWiFi dashboard, go to Devices and click Add Device.
3. Select the Location, name the device, and under Select Your Hardware choose OpenMesh / Datto (CloudTrax).
4. Enter your CloudTrax API key, API secret, network ID, SSID index, and a NAS ID for this location as prompted, then save. MyWiFi automatically configures the SSID for open authentication, points its captive portal at your MyWiFi splash page, sets up the walled garden, and connects RADIUS to MyWiFi's RADIUS servers.
5. Back in the CloudTrax dashboard (cloudtrax.com or Datto Network Manager), go to Networks > [your network] > SSIDs > Captive Portal and confirm the Splash Page Type shows "Hosted Remotely," the portal URL matches your MyWiFi portal domain, and the shared secret matches.
6. Confirm your MyWiFi portal domain (and any related asset domains) are listed in the Walled Garden, so guests can reach the splash page before logging in.
7. Test by connecting a device to the guest SSID — it should redirect to your MyWiFi splash page and grant internet access after login.

Best practice: the SSID index is a 0-based number, not a name — if your network has multiple SSIDs, double- and triple-check which numeric index corresponds to your guest network before entering it. Pointing MyWiFi at the wrong index will silently misconfigure the wrong SSID's captive portal.
