What you'll need
- A location, device, and campaign already created (see Your first 15 minutes)
Steps
- Location — created, with the correct address and time zone (set per-location, not account-wide).
- Device — your access point or controller connected to MyWiFi, showing a status other than "Never Connected" on the Devices page.
- Campaign — your splash page (the branded login page guests see when they connect) is built, with a login method configured (email, SMS, WhatsApp, social, free WiFi, or paid WiFi) and assigned to your location.
- Test the guest flow yourself — connect a device to your guest WiFi and confirm you see your actual splash page, not a default one, and that logging in actually grants internet access.
- Optional, but worth deciding before you're live at scale:
- Messaging — set up SMS/WhatsApp login if you want it (see the Messaging category)
- Billing — confirm you're on the plan you expect, with a payment method on file
- Custom domain — if you want your own domain instead of MyWiFi's default, start that now — activation isn't instant (see Custom domain setup)
Best practice: step 4 — actually testing the guest flow on a real device — catches more real-world issues than reviewing the dashboard alone: gaps in your walled garden (the domains a guest can reach before logging in), a wrong redirect URL, or a device broadcasting a different SSID (WiFi network name) than you expect.
