- Why isn't my device showing the SSID from my campaign? Two unrelated things. Your campaign's SSID field — the WiFi network name a guest sees when connecting — is just preview text and doesn't change what your hardware broadcasts. Your real broadcast SSID comes from your vendor's own controller, and MyWiFi attaches the guest login to that existing network rather than renaming it. To change the broadcast name, use your vendor's console, not the campaign builder.
- Why can't I access my router's admin console from the guest network? Guest traffic is restricted to a "walled garden" of allowed domains before a guest logs in, and your admin address usually isn't on that list. Most of MyWiFi's supported vendors are cloud-managed anyway, so you administer the device through its own vendor dashboard — a separate login, unaffected by this restriction.
- Can I manually set my device's IP address? No — MyWiFi doesn't have a field for this. Device IP addresses come from your own network (DHCP) and MyWiFi only displays what the hardware reports; it isn't something you configure in the dashboard.
- I have multiple routers at one location — how does MyWiFi decide which one a guest connects to? It doesn't — which physical access point a phone associates with is normal WiFi behavior (signal strength, your hardware's own radio settings), not something MyWiFi configures or controls.
- Does MyWiFi support mesh networks? MyWiFi doesn't have its own mesh-networking settings — if your vendor's hardware supports mesh (for example, OpenMesh/CloudTrax), that capability lives entirely in the vendor's own platform, not in MyWiFi.
Best practice: if something about your network's behavior looks wrong (SSID, IP assignment, which AP a guest connects to), check your vendor's own controller or console first — most of the network layer is entirely between your hardware and the guest device, and MyWiFi only handles the captive portal (the mini-browser window a phone opens automatically when a guest joins a WiFi network) and login piece on top of it.
