What you'll need
- A Stripe-billed account (the Credit Wallet is part of the newer Stripe billing platform — Recurly accounts don't have one)
Steps
- Go to your billing settings and find the Credit Wallet card.
- Your balance is shown as a total, broken into Included credits (from your plan's monthly bucket) and Purchased credits (from top-ups) — included credits are used first.
- An estimated runway ("~N days of credit left at your current pace") is shown based on your recent usage, so you can see a low balance coming before it happens.
- Every SMS, WhatsApp message, email, and AI query you send debits the wallet at that resource's rate. Below $10, you'll see a Low Balance warning.
- If your balance hits zero, sends hard-stop until you top up — nothing overdraws silently.
- A Transaction History table below the balance card shows every debit and credit — including things like WhatsApp number rental — so you can audit exactly what used your credits.
- A separate Usage & Metering section on the same page shows your current billing period's SMS, WhatsApp, Email, AI Credits, and API Calls usage, independent of wallet balance — useful for seeing what's actually driving your spend.
Best practice: turn on auto-reload (see Set up auto-reload) if you run automations or WhatsApp campaigns regularly — a hard-stopped send mid-campaign is a worse experience than a background top-up.
