Why limit guests' session times?
There are a number of use cases for limiting your guests' session times.
Bandwidth Saviour
Limiting your session times can help you save on bandwidth! For example, if you're a café or restaurant, you may want to set up a 20-minute session time limit -- and after that time, they won't be able to connect again that day. This can help prevent customers from staying too long and using up tables!
Mobile Demo Capture
Sometimes, you may be using MyWiFi inventively -- for example, as a lead generator to capture people's contact information at a pop-up event. In that case, you would just want people to connect to the WiFi with their information, then disconnect before they use too much valuable bandwidth. In this case, you can set the time limit as low as 1 minute -- and limit the data from being abused!
Paid vs Free
You can offer multiple tiers of WiFi at different price points, including free -- for example, you could offer 30 minutes of WiFi for free, or a full 24h for a small fee.
