Router & hardware setup overview

What you'll need

• Admin access to your access point or controller
• A Location already created in your MyWiFi dashboard

Steps

1. Go to Devices in the sidebar. Every device you've added is listed here, with its location and status.
2. Click Add New Device to open the Create Device wizard.
3. Pick the Location the device belongs to, name it, and choose your hardware from the Select Your Hardware grid — MyWiFi has a named integration guide for most major platforms (see the list below); if you don't see your exact model, RADIUS/WISPr-capable hardware can usually connect via the generic RADIUS option.
4. Follow your vendor's specific setup article for the vendor-side configuration steps, then come back to finish the connection details in this wizard.
5. Once a device is added, day-to-day management — renaming it, moving it to a different location, checking its status, or removing it — happens from this same Devices list. See Edit a device and View device status.

Best practice: set up and test one device per vendor/model first before rolling out to every location — that way a vendor-specific gotcha only costs you one troubleshooting pass, not twenty.

Every vendor guide follows the same shape: configure the captive-portal/RADIUS side on your hardware first, then finish the connection in MyWiFi's Add Device wizard.
