What you'll need
- Admin access to cnMaestro, either Cloud or On-Premises
- Your MyWiFi RADIUS server IP and shared secret (from your MyWiFi location settings)
- A list of every domain your splash page needs — portal domain, CDN, and any social login providers you use
- A cnMaestro X subscription only if you want to manage the walled garden through the REST API — otherwise you can add domains manually in the UI
Steps
- In cnMaestro, go to Configuration > WLANs and create or edit your guest SSID. Set Security to Open, then under Guest Access enable "External Hotspot" as the portal mode and set Access Policy to RADIUS.
- Enter MyWiFi's RADIUS server IP, port 1812 for authentication and 1813 for accounting, and the shared secret from your MyWiFi location settings. Set NAS-Identifier to the AP MAC address. If you want the login screen to open automatically on iOS and Android without a browser redirect, also enable "WISPr Clients External Login".
- In the same Guest Access settings, paste your MyWiFi splash page URL into the external portal URL field.
- Add every MyWiFi domain (portal domain, CDN, and any social login domains you use) to the WLAN's walled garden/whitelist so guests can reach the splash page before they're authenticated.
- In the MyWiFi dashboard, go to Devices and click Add Device.
- Select the Location, name the device, and under Select Your Hardware choose Cambium cnMaestro.
- Enter your Cambium connection details as prompted and save.
Best practice: cnMaestro sends the login request to non-standard ports — 880 for HTTP, 444 for HTTPS — on the access point itself, and some firewalls or carrier networks block traffic to those ports. If guests get stuck at the splash page after entering their info, that's the first thing to check.
