Open Mesh CloudTrax manual integration

Integrate your Open Mesh CloudTrax devices with your MyWiFi account and enable your guests to connect to the internet while keeping full control of your Open Mesh access points within your CloudTrax account.

You can also use the API integration to set up your devices.

  • Active MyWiFi subscription.
  • Active location set up within your dashboard.
  • A campaign assigned to the location.

Device setup

You will first need to set up your CloudTrax network and then retrieve the device's MAC address from your Open Mesh CloudTrax control panel before you can begin adding your device to MyWiFi.

  1. Log in to your CloudTrax control panel.
  2. Navigate to Manage -> Access Points.
  3. Locate the access point you want to add to MyWiFi.
  4. Copy the MAC address.

Copy this process for each device that you want to add to your dashboard.

MyWiFi setup

To add your access point to your dashboard, you need a location with an assigned campaign. If you already have the location and campaign set up, skip these steps.

  1. Log in to your MyWiFi dashboard.
  2. Select Locations from the main menu.
  3. Select an existing location with no assigned campaign.
  4. Select Settings within the location menu, and then set a campaign as the Default Campaign by using the drop-down menu.
If you do not already have a campaign created, first create one.
Now that the location has a default campaign assigned, you can continue to add your device.
  5. Select Back to Admin.
This will return you back to the admin dashboard.

If you are not able to access the captive portal after connecting to WiFi, or if you are entered in a loop when you attempt to access any specific URL, please make sure that your Custom Social Portal URL that you entered in the Custom splash URL field, is included in your Allow Hosts/Domains Whitelist.

"Hotspot login cannot open the page..." Error

If you are receiving the "Hotspot login cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server." error on iOS devices, adjust your whitelist based on the guidelines established by Open Mesh here:

NOTE: We DO NOT recommend adding to your whitelist as it will prevent the Android Captive Portal Assistant from working.
