Mailchimp integration

Mailchimp and MyWiFi

Integrate Mailchimp with MyWiFi so that you can keep your customer data up-to-date within Mailchimp. You can also create a list for each of your clients, and populate them using Zapier.

Required:

  • Active subscription with MailChimp
  • Active MyWiFi subscription.
  • A location with an associated campaign.

MailChimp setup

You will first need to log in to your MailChimp account and retrieve the API key.

  1. Log in to MailChimp.
  2. Click your Profile in the top right-hand corner.

  3. Select Account from the drop down menu.

  4. Click Extras.

  5. Select API keys from the drop-down menu.

  6. Under Your API keys, click Create A Key.

  7.  Copy your new API key.

MailChimp integration

Now that you have your MailChimp API key, you can create your app.

  1. Log in to your MyWiFi dashboard.

  2. Select Apps from the main menu.

  3. Click Add New App.

  5. Select MailChimp.

  6. Choose an App Name and enter your API Key that you retrieved from MailChimp above.

MailChimp automation

Now that your MailChimp account has been integrated with MyWiFi as an app, you can create an automation to use that data!

  1.  Select Automation from the main menu.

  2. Click Add New Automation.

  3. Decide on an Automation Name, and select the Location and Campaign this automation is for. 
  4. Click Proceed.

  5. Choose a trigger -- we suggest Connect. This will trigger the automation every time a guest connects to the WiFi.

  6. Choose a delay -- We suggest Real Time, so that your automation will trigger immediately.

  7. Choose a send frequency -- we suggest Always to keep your information as up-to-date as possible.

  8. Select MailChimp.

  9. Select your MailChimp app, then select a List within MailChimp, and finally choose what Action to perform -- choose to add or remove that contact from your list, add or remove tags, or add a note or event.
